Customers using the Citrix Workspace App for Windows version 2503 or later on Windows endpoint devices, like the Microsoft Surface Pro laptops equipped with specific Intel GPUs using older Intel drivers, may encounter graphical anomalies. These issues can manifest as visual artefacts or black boxes appearing within the Citrix session.
This issue has been observed on endpoint devices using the following Intel GPU series:
- Intel Arc™ A-Series Graphics
- Intel Arc™ B-Series Graphics
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics
- Intel Core Ultra Processors with integrated Intel Arc Graphics
This graphical issue is specific to Windows endpoints and only affects the Citrix Workspace App for Windows release 2503 or later. Other client platforms are not affected by the issues mentioned above.
The root cause of this issue lies with the older Intel Graphics drivers versions 30.x and 31.x. To resolve these graphical issues, users are advised to update the Intel Graphics drivers on their endpoint devices.
The issues have been fixed by Intel in Graphics driver version 32.x. Citrix advises customers to upgrade the Intel Graphics drivers to version 32.x or a more recent version. The driver updates can be obtained directly from the official Intel driver download page: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html
Please note that Windows Update might not show the latest available drivers for your device and updating the driver from Microsoft update might therefore not solve the issue. Please download the latest available drivers directly from the Intel driver site.
