This guide provides Citrix administrators with a concise and practical approach to configuring Microsoft Teams roaming with Citrix Profile Management (UPM). It consolidates key information and best practices to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation.
Teams Roaming Enablement: Adhere to the Citrix documentation for enabling Teams roaming: Enabling New Teams Roaming.
Teams Installation: Teams must be installed on the master image, either before or after the Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) installation. Installing Teams after provisioning machines will prevent users from seeing the Teams application in their Citrix sessions.
UPM User Store: When creating the UPM user store, refer to the Citrix documentation: Creating a User Store. Specifically, follow Step 3 of the Microsoft documentation on file share creation: Creating a File Share for Roaming User Profiles.
Profile Streaming Exclusion List: During the "Required Settings for the file-based profile solution" step 4, in the Teams roaming guide, you'll be directed to add folders to the Profile streaming exclusion list. Remember that the "Profile streaming" policy is enabled by default (see: Streaming Profiles). Carefully review and configure this list according to your environment's needs.
Group Policy Settings: Accurate configuration of Group Policy settings is crucial. Ensure you locate and correctly apply all necessary settings related to UPM and Teams roaming. (Note: Further clarification within the Citrix documentation regarding specific Group Policy settings would be beneficial).
