• When customers attempt to install the WSL 2 Ubuntu distribution on Windows 11 VDIs, they encounter the following message:

 Installing, this may take a few minutes.
Error observed WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0xe000020b Error: 0xe000020b (null)

Issue was found to be with VMware tools, After re-installing VMware tools able to run WSL 2 on MCS provisioned VDI

Problem Cause

After reviewing WSL logs ( https://github.com/Microsoft/WSL/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#8-detailed-logs ) we found that NIC creation was failing
