Unable to copy and paste after WEM agent is reinstalled. Wfshell.exe application crash occurs

Description

  • Issue noticed after re-installing WEM agent, users are facing issues with users being unable to copy and paste from Client to endpoint and vice versa.
  • In the event viewer on the VDA, event ID 1000 error for Wfshell.exe is displayed.

Resolution

  1. Remove the current WEM agent installed on the VDA. 
    • Once removed, you should be able to copy and paste between the session and client device. 
    • You should also notice that the application crash events for Wfshell.exe no longer occur. 
  2. Install the latest version of the WEM agent available.

Note: Citrix recommends to always use the latest WEM agent version or the version prior to the latest.

Problem Cause

Issue with WEM agent re-install as it was causing Wfshell.exe to crash. 
If Wfshell.exe crashes, it will affect users from being able to copy and paste from their sessions and local machines.
