Description

Right-click does not work on the start menu of Windows 11.

This issue only occurs when VDA is installed.
Uninstall VDA or VDA not installed environments do not cause this issue.

 

Environment

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

Configure Citrix API Hooks for “StartMenuExperienceHost.exe”

use the below Registry setting to configure Citrix API Hooks.

Key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\CtxUvi
Value Name: UviProcessExcludes
Type: REG_SZ
Value: StartMenuExperienceHost.exe

Notes:
Reboot the VDA to have the changes take effect.

 

Problem Cause

Some unexpected scenarios unnecessary 3rd party DLL load can cause abnormal process behavior, like hold process crash, hang, etc.
Disabling Citrix API Hooks for these undesired DLLs can reduce the impact of 3rd party application compatibility.
