Description

Disable the vDisk status icon from being displayed within the system tray on the endpoints after launching ICA sessions against PVS provisioned VDAs.

Environment

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

Create the registry keys below:

  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ProvisioningServices\StatusTray\ShowIcon (REG_DWORD) = 0
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ProvisioningServices\StatusTray\RunProgram (REG_DWORD) = 0

NOTE: This will disable to all users, even Administrators. Alternatively, you can also apply the HKCU keys based on Group membership (Group Policy Preferences > Item Level Targeting) to assign the settings to specific users OR exclude administrators
