This article explains how to update the password of domain user account used in Citrix Virtual Apps and Citrix Virtual Desktops.
Instructions
Prior to updating the password of a domain user account, it's required to check which SQL services on the SQL server and all Citrix services and its components (such as DDC servers, PVS servers and so on) are running for the account that is to be updated as well as accounts with hosting connections in DDC and PVS running.
If there are Services running on this domain user account to be updated, please refer to the following steps to update the password.
Example: Citrix Machine Creation Service on one DDC server running on this domain user account:
- Open services.msc.
- Select the service which is running on the domain user account and select "properties" in the right click menu.
- Click the "Log on" tab, update the password then select "Apply" & "Save" button.
- Restart the Service.
- Repeat the above steps for all Services running on this domain user account in SQL server and Citrix Virtual Desktop and Citrix Virtual App components.
If there are Hosting Connections running on this domain user account, refer to the following steps to update the password.
In Citrix Studio
- Navigate to Hosting and select the hosting connection which need to update the password.
- Click edit connection in the right action panel
- In the pop-up window, click edit settings and then input the new password.
- Click OK twice to quite the wizard.
In Citrix Provisioning Console
- Navigate to Hosts and select the hosting connection which need to update the password.
- Right click and select Properties
- In the pop-up window, navigate to Credentials and then input the new password.
- Click OK to quite the wizard.
