After upgrading the VDA all desktop and application launches result in a grey screen. The following error is seen on the event log of the VDA at the time of the issue "The Citrix TDICA Transport Driver connection from xxx.xx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx to port xxxx received an invalid packet during its SSL handshake phase."

Problem Cause

Installation of VDA is corrupted or incomplete: This can be determined by reviewing the event logs for multiple Citrix events with the below description: "The description for Event ID 1049 from source Citrix Desktop Service cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer"
