General Queries on Azure client secrets and Citrix DaaS

  1. If we were to modify the expiration date of application secret from DaaS console, then would it also update the new expiration date within the Azure portal?
  2. The Citrix docs states that there would be an alert within the DaaS console before the secret key expires. When can we expect the alert? (For example: 30 days/60 days)

Instructions

  • Modifying the expiration date of the secret within the DaaS console does not update the expiration date of the secret within Azure portal.
  • The expiration date within the DaaS console (within the "Connection Properties") is just used to trigger alert within the DaaS console to notify the administrators of the expiration date.
  • If the expiration date is not configured within the "Connection Properties" there would not be any alerts triggered within the DaaS console.
  • If the secret is about to expire or has already expired, then you would have to manually create a new application secret on Azure and then update the new Application ID and secret expiration date within the DaaS console.
  • The reminder time before expiration is 14 days. This means that the alerts will be visible within the DaaS portal 14 days before expiry.
  • DaaS console will also display a warning icon and a tooltip which contains the number of days before expiration. If the secret has already expired, then the console will display an error icon.
