Description

CWA configuration manager fails to open ICA file automatically with the error message: "ICA Client Configuration Manager: Could not find the file names (C:\Users\..\launch.ica). Please check your installation, or contact your administrator."

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

Modify client registry value "RemoveICAFile" from "*" to "False"
  • open the registry by regedit command
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Client Engine\ICA File
  • Reg_SZ == RemoveICAFile
  • Change the value from "*" to "False"
