Description

This article explains the steps required when manually uploading the Telemetry data to CIS.

Prerequisites

V11.17.2 build 40000 license server or newer

You must disable the automatic data upload before choosing to upload manually. Perform the following steps on your IT-managed/on-prem license server to disable automatic uploads:

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Licensing\LS
  2. Use the command ctx_license_management_service.exe -disable to disable the License Management Service
Note: This command stops the electronic license reporting of basic licensing data. By disabling electronic license reporting, you agree to report this data to Citrix manually.

Customers submitting reports manually must upload the upload_compliance*.zip files at least once every 90 days. Files older than 90 days will not be processed and will not count toward compliance status. When automatic uploads are disabled, the license server will create new upload_compliance*.zip files in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Licensing\LS\resource\usage directory. A new upload_compliance*.zip is created every 24 hours based on the Licensing service start time.

Starting with the 11.17.2 build 45000, Administrators who opt to report data with Citrix manually have to upload both License Server and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops data elements. The Licensing server data elements are bundled in upload_compliance*.zip files. The Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops data elements are bundled in upload_usage_*.zip files.

The upload_compliance*.zip files are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Licensing\LS\resource\usage.

The upload_usage_*.zip files are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Licensing\LS\resource\cis bundles\ul_usage.

What are the connectivity requirements, FQDNs / Ports, to be opened from Citrix License Server?

Note: The ports are for a license server registered with Citrix Cloud. The registration experience requires other endpoints to be accessible. The basic telemetry program only requires https://cis.citrix.com:443
