CVAD 2203 or 2206 Server OS VDA May Experience BSOD With BugCheck code 0x0000007e Due to Tdica.sys

Description

  • A Server OS VDA may randomly experience a BSOD with BugCheck code 0x0000007e due to access violation by tdica.sys.
  • The issue is seen post ugrading to  CVAD 2203 LTSR , CVAD 2203 LTSR CU1, CVAD 2206.
  • Issue is not seen with VDA 2112 and prior versions.


 

Resolution

  • The issue has been addressed in CVAD 2209 release and is tracked under CVADHELP-19862 .
  • A safe signed Private fix is available for CVAD 2203 LTSR and CVAD 2203 LTSR CU1. Please contact Citrix customer support to get the private fix if you are experiencing the same issue and do not wish to upgrade to Current release version CVAD 2209 (which includes the fix) or downgrade to CVAD 2112 (which did not have this regression).
  • Citrix support will validate if you are hitting the same issue and will share the private if applicable.
  • A public fix for this issue is now included in 2203 LTSR Cumulative Updates 2.
