Description
CAS Onboarding Assistant helps troubleshoot issues while onboarding your StoreFront with Citrix Analytics. The Storefront server might fail to connect to Citrix Analytics after importing the configuration settings from Citrix Analytics to your StoreFront server. CAS Onboarding Assistant checks all the prerequisites mentioned in the document, https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-analytics/troubleshoot-citrix-analytics-for-security-and-performance/storefront-issue.html
Where to download ?
Certain legacy Citrix tools are now available on request only. Please submit the request here - https://forms.gle/obA39PEz5qpDiSPq8
Once we verify your request, we will provide access to the download location.
This tool is planned to be updated regularly with changes required in the troubleshooting steps.
Prerequisites
- For verbose logging, debugView tool is required. Download it from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/debugview and place it at "$env:USERPROFILE\CAS Onboarding Assistant\DebugView"
- Download the StoreFront configuration file from Citrix Analytics and place it at “$env:USERPROFILE\CAS Onboarding Assistant”. For more information, https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-analytics/troubleshoot-citrix-analytics-for-security-and-performance/storefront-issue.html
- Ensure that the AppPools of StoreFront web apps are not set to an Enabled 32-bit application, since this will make StoreFront services look for Registry keys under WOW6432Node location.
Running CAS Onboarding Assistant
CAS Onboarding Assistant is a standalone executable. Download and extract the tool to a folder with write permissions. You must have administrator permission to run the tool.
When you run the tool, it does the following:
- Tests connection to Citrix Analytics Server.
- Checks if the proxy is enabled. Provides a document containing the firewall rules to be created on the proxy server. If the proxy is not enabled and the firewall rules are not present, it creates the rules with TCP protocol and 80, 443, 8080 ports.
- Looks for the CasConfigurationManager sections and Citrix Analytics Server information in the web config. If not present, it first backs up the web-backup-$currentDate.config file and then, adds the CasConfigurationManager sections and Citrix Analytics Server information web config.
- Enables StoreFront server verbose logging using the Debugview MicroSoft debugging tool mentioned in Prerequisites Step 1.
- Checks if StoreFront site is under the IIS default site. Else it restarts IIS. This will move StoreFront under the default site.
- Import the StoreFront configuration present at "$env:USERPROFILE\CAS Onboarding Assistant\StoreFrontConfigurationFile.json" as mentioned in Prerequisites Step 2.
- Checks for the required registry keys.
