Description
Modify the display icon for published desktop to use customized icons and/or point to use any existing icons
Instructions
Perform the below actions on one of the DDCs elevated PowerShell,
- asnp citrix*
- Get-BrokerDesktopGroup -name "<Name of the Delivery Group>" to view icon UID assigned if rollback is required
Note: Since we are adding a new icon to the Site config, this will allocate UID as the next available number on the Site config based on the icons list and is expected to be different across different Sites based on the config and publishing of DG
- Import a new icon and assign to the Delivery group by running
$icon=Get-BrokerIcon -FileName "<Location of the .ico file>" |New-BrokerIcon | Select-Object Uid
Get-BrokerDesktopGroup -name "<Name of the Delivery Group>" | Set-BrokerDesktopGroup -IconUid $icon.Uid
- Get-BrokerDesktopGroup -name "<Name of the Delivery Group>" to verify new UID
- If rollback is required to any available icon on Site config, you may run
Set-BrokerDesktopGroup -name "<Name of the Delivery Group>" -IconUid "number"
You can also change the ICON for Entitlement Policy Rule associated with the Desktop. Example:
- $icon=Get-BrokerIcon -FileName "<Location of the .ico file>" |New-BrokerIcon | Select-Object Uid
- Get-BrokerEntitlementPolicyRule : list all entitlements
- Get-BrokerEntitlementPolicyRule -Uid XX | Set-BrokerEntitlementPolicyRule $icon.Uid
(where XX should be replaced with the Uid of the entitlement)
You should also backup and remove the default ICON from the Store on the Storefront Server.
Location: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\Store_Name\App_Data (replace Store_Name with the actual name of the Store).
File: Desktop.ico
