The objective of this article is to provide the recommended steps at a high level in order to configure two new StoreFront servers to work with an existing Gateway virtual server that utilizes an URL created with an old set of StoreFront servers.
Instructions
• In this scenario, the customer is running a production site with an old version
• The site has two StoreFront servers with a Load balancer VIP
• They also have a Gateway virtual server pointing to the LB VIP belonging to two old SF servers
• He built up a new Citrix site with a newer version, and created two new SF servers with a new LB VIP
• He created a new store in the new SF servers and built a new Gateway URL pointing to the new store URL
• The old SF servers utilize base URL Citrix.A.com new SF servers use Citrix.B.com
• Here are the steps
o In the old gateway, point the Virtual Server Session Policy to the new SFs LB VIP, so external users will access the new SF servers
o Change the internal DNS record for Citrix.A.com to resolve the new SFs LB VIP, so internal users will access the new SF servers
o In the new StoreFront servers, change the Base URL from Citrix.B.com to Citrix.A.com, so the new stores will be linked to that URL
o In the new StoreFront servers, remove the Gateway URL for Citrix.B.com and replace it with the current one Citrix.A.com, this way the new SF servers will talk to the old gateway instead of the new one
o For the new NS Gateway virtual server, he can decommission it as it won’t be used.
