Description

Microsoft’s January 2022 security updates have passed Citrix testing (the updates are listed below). The testing is not all-inclusive; all tests are executed against English only environments and issues may still be found upon implementation. Follow best practices for testing and installing software updates/patches in a development environment before implementing the updates in a production environment.

  • XenApp/XenDesktop 7.15 CU8
  • Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 1912 CU4
  • Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 2112

Note: On some environments, when the Domain Controllers OR PVS Servers are updated with January Security updates, the Citrix PVS Soap server service may not start as outlined on CTX338544. Microsoft released out of band updates (included and highlighted in below table) to address some issues seen with January updates. If the out of band cumulative updates for respective OS is installed directly without installing the January updates, this issue is not seen.
EDIT (27 Jan 2022): In some cases, issue may still be seen if .NET Updates are installed with January Updates/OOB. Refer to CTX338544 for workaround.

UPDATE (08 Feb 2022): Microsoft has made .NET updates available around 7th February after which the above mentioned issue is not observed. The updates that were verified are added to below table.

Where applicable, the above Citrix products were tested with below updates.
