• VDA Upgrade or clean install fails with an error 'Citrix Audio Failed with error code 1603' -
• The installer log shows the below errors:

Option 1(Recommended):

• Run the VDA cleanup utility
• Reboot the VM as it prompts
• Install the VDA using the ISO download available on the Citrix Downloads. Installation using the ISO would help in the automatic installation of the missing Pre-requisites as they are packaged within the ISO unlike a standalone VDA installer

 Option 2:

• Validate the Prerequisites of the VDA in the respective version of the Product documentation. For example, the current version's information is listed at https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/system-requirements
• We have observed Windows Media feature was missing in a few instances. Install the missing pre-requisites 
• Reboot the VM
• Install the VDA

Problem Cause

As part of the product enhancement to improve audio quality, a new component The Opus encoder “CxOpusEncodeMft.dll” and the decoder “CtxOpusDecoder.dll” is added. This would require Media Feature to be working
