To resolve these issues, you need to configure the language of Citrix Cloud, the display language of your browser, and the local keyboard layout.
This article describes how to configure the language bar feature to support inputting all localized characters in Citrix Studio. The language bar feature applies only to the legacy Studio console (MMC-based console). This article covers the English, Japanese, German, Spanish, and French languages, as well as unsupported languages.
English (US)
Set the language of Citrix Cloud to
English (US). If the display language of your browser is set to English, the language bar does not appear in Studio.
After accessing the Studio console through
Manage > Full Configuration in the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service, you can type characters in text fields with the English keyboard layout.

For the best user experience, configure your browser language settings as follows.
Google Chrome browser settings:
Firefox browser settings:
Microsoft Edge browser settings:
Note: For the other browsers, make sure that the preferred language and display language are the same as the target language. Otherwise, the language bar might not appear.
By default, the language of the Citrix Cloud sign-in page is English (US) and the language bar does not appear.

Note: If the settings are not configured properly, you might not be able to input the correct punctuation. You need to log off from Studio and log back on.
Japanese (日本語)
We hide the language bar in Studio if the selected language of Citrix Cloud is
Japanese (日本語) or the display language of the browser is set to Japanese (日本語). You might have difficulty inputting Japanese characters, particularly, punctuation. Here are two methods:
- You first copy punctuation or characters to the clipboard and then paste them from the clipboard to text boxes in Studio.
- You log out from Studio. You then set the display language of the browser to English (US), change the local keyboard layout to English (US), and log back on to input characters.
For example, you can use the first method to input special characters “\@”.
- Copy “\@” from your workspace and then paste it in Studio > Clipboard.
- Copy “\@” in the clipboard and then paste it into the text box in Studio.
In the Studio console main view, the language bar does not appear and the local keyboard layout settings match what’s shown in the bottom right corner.
