Description
After a Virtual Apps/Desktops site upgrade, Director "Configuration Logging" database may show "not connected" .
On the DDC's Event Viewer, the following error is seen,
"Citrix Configuration Logging Service Event ID 1007 - Otherwise unhandled exception in WCF call: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object""
Restarting the Configuration Logging Service does not fix the issue.
New data is not being shown in Studio under "Configuration Logging"
Resolution
Check permission "ConfigLoggingSchema" is being applied by following the steps below:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio
- Navigate to the Configuration Logging Database
- Expand "Security" then expand "Users"
- The computer name should be displayed for all DDCs in the farm (I.E DDC1$ / DDC2$ / DDC3$)
- Right-click each of the DDCs and click "Properties"
- In the left pane click "Owned Schemas"
- Verify the "ConfigLoggingSchema" is selected and click ok
- Restart Director
The Configuration Logging Database should no longer display as "Not Connected"
Problem Cause
The DDCs did not have the proper permissions to connect to the Configuration Logging Database.
