Installation of VDA fails with below error,

Installation of the Director VDA Plug-in failed with error code 1603, failing action was "RegisterComServer" on operation "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\regasm.exe /silent /tlb DirectorComServer.exe".

• msdtc –resetlog
• net start msdtc

• MSDTC –uninstall
• MSDTC –install

Problem Cause

• MSDTC service <Distributed transaction coordinator> is stopped.
• Expand the Component Services à Computers and review the state of My Computer Icon. If it depicts an Inverted Red Arrow, this indicates a corrupt MSDTC.
