Description
- Error - There must be at least 1 and at most 4 logon servers in the list
- Bootstrap configuration missing post update to 1912 .CU (X) / 2203 .CU (x)
Resolution
- Check the "use the Citrix Provisioning TFTP service" box
- The bootstrap info should be updated.
NOTE:
- When it Is left unchecked the configuration wizard never attempts to update the bin file and hence the bootstrap is left blank.
- When upgrading you have to reenter the login servers in the config wizard so they can be written to the binary.
- The installer will upgrade the ARDBP32.BIN file version.
- Running the configuration wizard after the install/upgrade - This upgrades the DB and also updates the ARDBP32.BIN file with the PVS servers' IPs.
Problem Cause
When you upgrade a PVS server, we replace the bootstrap file, but this does not cause any issues.
- The setup in the configuration wizard is that when the user configures TFTP -- if the user does NOT configure TFTP then the bootstrap will be empty -- Citrix installs a blank template file, so it gets overwritten when the user does the upgrade. Currently in 1912 and 2203 and Current Release prior to the upcoming 2311, user MUST configure TFTP in the config wizard even if the user plans on using BDM boot as this is what sets up the login server list in the bootstrap that is then used during the CVAD setup wizard.
- Citrix is changing this in the upcoming Current Release (and following LTSR) so that when the user run the CVAD setup wizard it will prompt the user for the login servers to use. Note that this only applies to UEFI boot -- but BIOS boot is being removed in the upcoming CR as well.
Issue/Introduction
It is recommended to run the config wizard on all PVS servers once upgrade is completed
