Description

Error while connecting to WEM admin console: "You are not registered as a Workspace Environment Management Administrator. Therefore, you are not allowed to access the service. Please contact your Workspace Environment Management Administrator to gain access."

Resolution

Assuming the WEM environment is brand new and the WEM database was just created proceed with the following actions:
  1. Delete the WEM database previously created.
  2. Run the WEM Database Management Utility again.
  3. In the VUEM Administrators page, select the Initial Administrator Group containing the user account used to run the admin console.
  4. Continue with the WEM Database Management Utility until the database is created successfully.
  5. Launch the WEM Infrastructure Service Console and ensure that the configuration to connect to the WEM database is correct.
  6. Launch the WEM admin console which should connect successfully.

Problem Cause

During the creation of the WEM database, an Initial Administrator Group was selected that does not contain the user account used to run the WEM admin console.
