Description
Citrix ADM, formerly NetScaler MAS
Is it possible to automate the backup on the NetScaler, we have 20 in total and want to automate and save to a shared locations
Instructions
Yes, it is possible to take backups from all of your Netscalers using the Netscaler Management and Analytics System (NetScaler MAS), which can be used as a central point of configuration and backups for your Netscaler devices.
To do that you will have to deploy one new Netscaler MAS server(in case you do not have one setup already), add the Netscalers instances to it and then configure the scheduled backups.
You can check the Netscaler MAS System requirements on this document:
https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/netscaler-mas/12/system-requirements.html You can download the Netscaler MAS server on
https://www.citrix.com/downloads/netscaler-mas/ In order to deploy MAS you can follow the guidelines provided here:
https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/netscaler-mas/12/deploy-netscaler-mas.html After the deployment you should be able to add Netscaler instances into your new Netscaler MAS server using the following guideline:
https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/netscaler-mas/12/setting-up-netscaler-mas/adding-an-instance.html After the deployment and configuration of your Netscaler instances you will be able to configure scheduled backups and automate the process, you can follow this guideline document to do so:
https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/netscaler-mas/12/instance-management/how-to-backup-and-restore-using-mas.html You can export the backups to a FTP/SFTP or SCP server.
There is no license required to use the Netscaler MAS server to do the backups.
It is also important to use version of the MAS server equal or higher to your Netscaler version.
