64-bit browsers terminate unexpectedly on XenApp 6.5 Server, Xen App 7.x and Xen Desktop 7.x when Electrolysis or e10s Feature is Enabled.
 

Resolution

Scenario 1: 64-bit Firefox terminates unexpectedly on XenApp 6.5 Server, Xen App 7.x and Xen Desktop 7.x when Electrolysis or e10s Feature is Enabled.


Workaround : Disable Citrix API hooks for Firefox
  1. Open Registry Editor.
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook
  3. Change the value of registry key ExcludedImageNames to firefox.exe,plugin-container.exe
    Note: If registry key ExcludedImageNames doesn’t already exist, you’ll need to create it.

Disable Multi-Process Firefox (e10s or Electrolysis)

Fix: A private fix is available to resolve this issue. The fix is also included in the upcoming release of XenApp and XenDesktop.


Scenario 2: 64-bit Chrome terminates unexpectedly on XenApp 6.5 Server when Electrolysis or e10s Feature is Enabled. 


Workaround: Update the Registry Key
 
  1. Open Registry Editor.
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook.
  3. Change the value of registry key ExcludedImageNames to chrome.exe,nacl64.exe. 
    Note: If registry key ExcludedImageNames doesn’t already exist, you’ll need to create it.
Fix: Citrix is aware of this issue and is currently under investigation.
