Description
When running XDSW, customer encountered generic error "Cannot connect to the Hypervisor, object reference not set as an Instance"
This error was encountered just at the stage when the expected screen would be template selection.
Resolution
Removing commas from storage name.
XDSW parses multiple storage locations configured in XD host connection using commas.
If commas are specified in an individual storage location, the storage path will not be possible to interpret using XDSW.
If planning on using PVS XDSW,avoid using commas while naming storages configured in XD host connection
Problem Cause
Neither MCS created vms, or PVS targets created using SVMSW encounter this error when using same hosting connection or configured storage.XDSW parses multiple storage locations configured in XD host connection using commas.
If commas are specified in an individual storage location, the storage path will not be possible to interpret using XDSW.
If planning on using PVS XDSW,avoid using commas while naming storages configured in XD host connection
