This article describes how to provide proxy services for VMware clients through NetScaler Gateway 12.0.
Provide Proxy services for VMware clients via NetScaler Gateway 12.0 is a new feature called PC-over-IP (PCoIP). This new feature can compensate for latency or reduced bandwidth to ensure users remain productive during difficult network conditions. NetScaler supports the PCoIP protocol of the VDI VMware view solution.
To configure NetScaler Gateway to support PCoIP proxy for VMWare Horizon View:
1. From the NetScaler GUI, navigate to Configuration > NetScaler Gateway > Policies > PCoIP.2. On the PCoIP Profiles and Connections page, create a vserver profile and a PCoIP profile.
3. To create a vserver profile, on the VServer Profiles tab, click Add and provide Name and Domain Name, and then click Create.
To create a PCoIP profile, on the Profiles tab, click Add, provide a name for the PCoIP profile, and provide the connection URL for VMware Horizon View connection server.
4. Navigate to Configuration > NetScaler Gateway > Policies > Session.
5. On the NetScaler Gateway Session Policies and Profiles page, create NetScaler Gateway Session Profile.
6. To create a NetScaler Gateway session profile, select Session Profiles tab, click Add, provide a name, and then click Create.
7. On the Client Experience tab, ensure that the Clientless Access value is set to On.
8. On the Security tab, ensure that the Default Authorization Action value is set to ALLOW.
9. On the PCoIP tab, select the required PCoIP profile, and then click Create.
10. Navigate to Configuration > NetScaler Gateway > Policies > Session.
11. Select Session Profiles tab, click Add, provide a name to create NetScaler Gateway Session Policy, select the required profile name from the drop-down, in the Expression area type ns_true, and then click Create.
12. Finally, bind the created PCoIP profile and session policy to a VPN vserver.
a. Configuration > NetScaler Gateway > Virtual Servers > Select VPN Vserver > Edit.
c. Policy Bindings > Plus symbol (+) > Select Policy (> icon) > Select your newly created Policy.
d. Bind the Policy.
e. Click Done > Save Configuration (diskette icon).
