Description

By enabling access to Google Drive from Receiver for Chrome, your users can seamlessly use existing Windows-based applications (for example, Microsoft Word) on a Chromebook and access the files residing on Google Drive. For example, if a user saves a file to Google Drive (for instance, a .DOC file attachment downloaded from Gmail), the file can be opened using a Windows-based application (in this case, Word) on the Chromebook using Receiver for Chrome.

Instructions

  1. Download the Citrix File Access component (FileAccess.exe) from the Citrix Workspace App for Chrome download page  and install it on each XenApp or XenDesktop VDA.
  2. Configure the appropriate File Type Associations (FTAs) for published applications in Citrix Studio. FTAs can be configured in the application properties.
  3. On the XenApp/XenDesktop VDA, open the default browser, add https://accounts.google.com and https://ssl.gstatic.com to the trusted sites and allow cookies from these sites.

Only files from Google Drive can be opened using Chrome Receiver. To open a file from Google Drive, select Open with Citrix Receiver.
Open with Chrome Receiver

Citrix recommends that you associate one file type with only one published application.
