Description

The Windows 10 Start menu layout is pain point for many users. What’s more, when utilizing roaming profile solutions, the Start menu layout might not be persistent when roaming across multiple desktops. We have described the reasons for this issue in this Citrix blog. The following is a workaround before we can provide a long term solution.

Resolution

  1. Edit an existing Citrix Profile Management policy or create a new policy to add “AppData\Local\TileDataLayer” to the mirrored folder configuration. The configuration settings are in Profile Management\File System\Synchronization\Folders to mirror.
    For example:

  2. Make sure the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Speech_oneCore” registry is included for profile synchronization.

Note: 1.) This solution applies solely to Windows 10 machines. 2.) This workaround has been validated on Windows 10 Build 1607. Citrix cannot guarantee that it works for future Microsoft Windows 10 releases.
