If there are issues with your Desktops after Windows 10 Automatic Updates, you can disable automatic updates of Unidesk Desktops using a local GPO set on the Gold image or Operating System Layer.

Resolution

(Applies to Unidesk 3.4.0 and later and Unidesk 2.9.4 and later with Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise, and Education editions) To prevent Windows 10 updates by using a local GPO:

  1. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator (type cmd in the search and right-click Command Prompt in the Search, and select Run as administrator)
  2. Select Yes to Allow this app to make changes to your PC,
  3. Type gpedit.msc into the Command Prompt window, and press Enter.
  4. Navigate to: 

    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update
  5. In the right pane, double-click the Configure Automatic Updates setting, set it to Disabled, and select OK to save your changes.
  6. Verify your setting by rebooting and going into Settings\Update & Security\Windows Update\Advanced Options. Confirm that Some settings are managed by your organization is displayed at the top.
