This article describes how to decommission/remove a Provisioning Services Server from a farm.

Instructions

Complete the following steps to decommission/remove a Provisioning Services Server from a farm

1. Capture a full backup of the PVS Farm Database
2. Shut down the PVS Server that is to be decommissioned.
3. From the PVS Console on one of the working PVS Servers, navigate to Site > Servers
4. Right-click on the PVS Server that needs to be deleted and select "Delete" from the context menu
5. Reconfigure the bootstrap on the remaining PVS Servers in the Site
   1. Right click on each PVS Server and select the option "Configure Bootstrap..." from the context menu
   2. In the "Configure Bootstrap" window click on the "Read Servers from Database" button
   3. Click Ok
