Description

This article describes the method to change the amount of memory allocated to the Control Domain using XenCenter.

Instructions

The amount of memory allocated to the Control Domain is set automatically during XenServer installation and is based on the amount of physical memory on the server.
You can now update the Dom0 memory from XenCenter or command line interface (CLI).
The following section provides instructions to configure dom0 memory from XenCenter. For CLI instructions, please refer to CTX134951.

Notes:
  • Increasing the amount of dom0 memory will result in less memory being available to VMs.
  • Customers cannot use XenCenter to reduce dom0 memory below the value that was initially set during XenServer installation.
To configure dom0 memory from XenCenter
  1. Put XenServer host into Maintenance mode
  2. Select the server in the Resources pane and click Memory.
  3. Click the hyperlink displayed next to Control domain memory.
