Instructions

Go to SCVMM admin console
  1. Select the "VMs and Services" tab and browse under all hosts and find your Hyper V machine(s)
  2. Select the host(s) in question and right click and go to Properties.
  3. In the window shown select the Status tab and it will show what Health Status is requesting attention (in this case the "Host Agent Version" was shown out of date).
  4. Click the Repair All button and wait for the Host Agent Version to be upgraded.
  5. All Health Status should display OK once completed.
  6. Next go to Studio and run a test to the Hosting Connection and Resources which should finish successfully without errors and warnings messages.
  7. Proceed to create a new Machine Catalog which should finish successfully now.
NOTE:
If MCS fails again with error message "Failed to open share '\\ServerFQDN\Folder' as it is already used by a different user on this machine." proceed to reboot the Delivery Controller to finish all services that are using the SCVMM admin console or other Hyper-V services. Then attempt to create a new Machine Catalog again.
