Description

After installing the Linux VDA system is generating the following errors in the /var/log/xdl/vda.log file after installing the Linux VDA software.
[ERROR] - LdapPrivilegedAction.Run: Unable to establish initial directory context and search LDAP server 'ldap://<DC computer name>:389' for computer characteristics. Error: [LDAP: error code 8 - 00002028: LdapErr: DSID-0C090202, comment: The server requires binds to turn on integrity checking if SSL\TLS are not already active on the connection, data 0, v2580 ].
2017-01-31 15:28:23.363 [WARN ] - InformationManager.GetComputerSID: Failed to obtain computer SID from LDAP.
2017-01-31 15:28:23.363 [ERROR] - InformationManager.GetComputerSID: Failed to determine Computer SID for FQDN: <computer name>

Resolution

Enable LDAPS on the Linux system being used as the Linux VDA. To enable LDAPS for the Linux VDA use the following:

Problem Cause

The Active Directory servers having singing/secure LDAP enabled and the Linux VDA is not using secure LDAP. 

Issue/Introduction

After installing the Linux VDA software the Linux VDA does not register with the Delivery Controller.
