Description

SSL Trust issue on Mac.

Resolution

  1. Check URL at https://www.digicert.com/help  and make sure that the chain is good.
  2. You may also check the URL using the SSL Checker at https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html
  3. If there is a problem with a certificate, in this case the root certificate, do the following:
  4. Open Key chain access and click System Roots keychain
  5. Navigate to "Certificates" category on the left pane select DigiCert Global Root G2 and open the certificate to verify the serial number.

  1. Compare the serial number in root certificate in SSL Shopper SSL Checker Tool.
  2. They do not match.
  3. Export it from the keychain access using below steps:        
    1. Click System Roots keychain > "Certificates" category > select the DigiCert Global Root G2
    2. Click File > "Export Items" menu. The "Save As" dialog box shows up.
    3. Select Certificate (.cer) format.
    4. Change the file location and file name to ~\temp\DigiCert_Root_CA.cer.
    5. Click Save > click Finish 
    6. The selected certificate will be exported into the specified file.
  4. Install it on the NS and link the intermediate certificate and test it.

Problem Cause

- The wrong root certificate was installed (serial mismatch).
