VMWare Black screen on Boot (No SVGA 3D Driver). The issue even persisted after removing the VMWare SVGA driver.
Resolution
After analyzing a complete memory dump of the VDA, the issue was found to be with a Symantec file on the system (SMR411.sys). After removing this file, the black screen issue went away, and the VDA booted as expected. It is advised to engage Symantec about the faulty module.
Problem Cause
Symantec SMR411.sys was found to be the cause of the black screen.
