Question:

  • Can we boot targets using PXE boot in Subnet where we have 2 PVS Server in 2 different farms pointing to different database ?

Answer:
  • This is not supported because when targets boot using PXE services, it broadcasts a packet and if it contacts a PVS Server which does not have entry for target and points to different database it will give an error : No entry found in database"
Workaround:
  • In this case we can use BDM ISO where we can hard code the login server address to redirect target to boot from specific PVS Server or build new subnet to isolate second farm.

Note: Creating scope options for specific reservation is not recommended
