In certain situation like Master server becoming unresponsive, we may need to change  the XenServer Pool master role. This article illustrates how to perform that from XenServer Console


Instructions

Go to any server in the pool 

On console type "xsconsole"

Goto "Resource Pool Configuration"

Goto "Designate a New Pool Master"

( You might be asked to provide your root credentials )
  • Select the Host that you want to make the master,
  • Press Enter Key
  • Press F8 to confirm
The pool will now disconnect.
