Error: 1603, VDA installation failed.  MSI logs show:

Resolution

  1. Uninstall VDA using CTX209255 - VDA Cleanup Utility.
  2. Follow CTX140535 - How to Manually Uninstall Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) Components and make sure we don’t have any component left behind.
  3. Remove all C++ components from machine(C++ 2008 Redistributable - x64, C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86, C++ 2010 Redistributable - x64, C++ 2010 Redistributable - x86 
  4. Uninstall Antivirus if any (especially Symantec).
  5. If there are any issues with uninstallation of the VDA agent, please follow article: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-1402-during-uninstallation-Could-not-open-key.html 
  6. Make sure we have Full Control permissions for SYSTEM, ADMINISTRATOR, ADMINISTRATORS, LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR on the following key:  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components 
  7. Reboot the machine.
  8. Install the VDA again.
