Description

To disable Citrix applications showing up in the start menu. For some users this leads to confusion on which applications are virtual and which are native installed apps 

Environment

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

The published icons from the start menu can be disabled by following either of the below steps:

1. From Group Policy:
- After importing the ADM template, browse to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Citrix Components\Citrix Receiver\SelfService. Here you will find a policy called "Manage App shortcut". You will have to enable this policy and select "Disable Startmenu Shortcut" option. 

2. From registry editor on the client machine: 
- On the client machine, that has receiver installed, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\Dazzle. Then edit the registry string PutShortcutsInStartMenu and set it to false. 

Problem Cause

The enumeration of published app shortcuts are enabled by default.
