Description

Error: Getting error when launching applications "cannot Start App"
 
Changes: Only major change was a new application installed on the Server VDA to be deployed via XenApp.
 
Symptoms

  • Many errors in event log of VDA: App crash and .Net runtime errors after the reboot, post application install.
  • Citrix Desktop service wont start
  • Tried to run lodctr /r - failed error 3 ( path not found )
  • Verified WMI repository - ok

Resolution

  1. Remove and reinstall .net framework
  2. Re-install the VDA.

Problem Cause

installation of the new application corrupted the existng .net framework.
