Important Notes about This Release

  • Note: As a best practice, Citrix recommends that you install this and other hotfixes only if you are affected by the specific issues they resolve. Otherwise, Citrix recommends that you wait for the next hotfix rollup pack for your product release. Hotfix rollup packs consolidate most previously released hotfixes and allow you to update systems in a convenient, single installation.
  • Important: Installing this hotfix over an ICA session is not supported but you can install it through a remote desktop session using an administrator account.
  • Caution! This release may require you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Where to Find Documentation

This document describes the issue(s) resolved by this release and includes installation instructions. For additional product information, including system requirements, see XenApp 6.5 on the Citrix Product Documentation site.

New Fixes in This Release

  1. On systems with Fix #LC2702 (included in Hotfix Rollup Pack 6) applications can fail to save on client mapped drives and generate corrupt files instead.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64022][#LC3976]

Fixes from Replaced Hotfixes

  1. The svchost.exe process for Terminal Services might close unexpectedly with an application Event ID 1000 and can cause the Remote Desktop and Receiver connections to the server to fail.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64001][#LC1419]

  2. When you attempt to access from the same device and while the session state is active - a published desktop after a client disconnect, the following error can appear:

"Connection Error: You already have an instance of this application open and are not allowed to run more than one instance. Please contact your System Administrator."

This can occur when the "Allow only one instance of application for each user" option is enabled in the Published Application Properties of the desktop.

To enable the fix, set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\Policies
    Name: AllowReconActiveDesktopOnSingleLimitMet
    Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0x00000001 (set "1" to enable and "0" to disable)

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64010][#LC2614]

  3. Removing a smart card from the reader during session logon can prevent the session from properly terminating on the server. As a result, the server can exhibit a state where smart card logons for any future sessions are prevented.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64010][#LC3020]

  4. When reading a file from a mapped client drive, the old, cached file length might be returned if the file length was changed outside of the client session.

To enable the fix, set the following registry value to "0":

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\picadm\Parameters
    Name: CacheTimeout
    Type: REG_DWORD
Value: Default value is 60 seconds. If CacheTimeOut is set to "0," the file length is reloaded immediately and if not it is loaded after the defined timeout.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64010][#LC3167]

  5. When opening and saving changes to a file located on a mapped client drive using a published application, the modified time stamp does not update.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64010][#LC3412]

  6. In Citrix Receiver for Android published desktop sessions, attempts to open a Microsoft Outlook calendar invitation can fail with the following error message:

    "Cannot open item"

The issue occurs with calendar invitation created by other users; invitations created by the same user are not affected.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64017][#LC2828]

  7. Attempts to append data to files on a mapped client drive might fail when the files are opened by users with write-only permissions. The issue occurs when running the PowerShell command "get-process | out-file -filepath "\\client\c$\temp\proclist.txt" -Append" for the second time.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64017][#LC3895]

  8. Printer redirection can intermittently fail.

    [From XA650R06W2K8R2X64017][#LC4584]
