Description

After enabling Microsoft or Citrix Profile Management folder redirection for AppData (Roaming), when launching application via shortcut placing at Windows Taskbar, user might see Windows "Open File - Security Warning" dialog, with message "Do you want to open this file?". 


Instructions

To suppress the "Open File - Security Warning" dialog, please take following steps,
  1. Add File Server address to Internet Explorer trusted site (value=2) for all affected virtual desktops via AD GPO setting , Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Security Page > Site to Zone Assignment List.

  1. Update registry value "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\2\1806" to 0 for all affected VDI users via AD GPO, User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry.

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.
