This fix addresses an issue that prevents the Windows logon screen of XenApp 6.0 servers from displaying the smart card tile.
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64091][#LC3168]
A smart card cannot be read if a published desktop gets locked.
To enable this fix, you must create the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: EnableCtxCleanup
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64004][#LA2343]
Sessions can become unresponsive when smart card services are running but no smart card reader is present.
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64016][#LA3469]
Improperly terminated smart card transactions can leave orphaned sessions running on the server and cause new sessions to become unresponsive during logon. Several processes (winlogon.exe, csrss.exe, and logonui.exe) keep running in the orphaned sessions.
To enable the fix, you must set the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: TransactionTimeoutEnable
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1 (enable)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: TransactionTimeoutValue
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: <this value should be at least 10 seconds more than the transactionTimeoutValue>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: SendRecvTimeout
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: Minimum timeout value, in seconds; should be 30 seconds or more. Any lesser value defaults to 30 seconds. This value must be at least 10 seconds more than "TransactionTimeoutValue".
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64024][#LA0983]
Two-factor USB token authentication for smart cards might fail with the following error message:
"System could not log you on, requested key container does not exist on smart card."
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64024][#LA3620]
The smart card tile might fail to appear after dismissing the Windows logon banner message. As a result, only the option of "Other User" is available for users to select.
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64024][#LA4001]
When using smart card authentication, sites in the Intranet zone do not prompt for credentials and fail to load if protected mode is enabled for the Intranet zone. To enable this fix, you must set the following registry keys:
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64042][#LA4501]
Removing a smart card from the reader might not result in the disconnection of the session.
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64080][#LA4588]
The Citrix Smart Card Service might cause very high CPU usage. To correct this issue, restart the Citrix Smart Card Service.
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64080][#LA5919]
After logging on to a server by using a smart card, the server can become unresponsive at the Welcome screen and refuse to accept new sessions. Restarting the Smart Card Service resolves the issue and the server continues to accept new sessions.
Configuring the following registry keys might not be necessary if fix #LA0983 is already installed and you configured the registry settings during the previous hotfix installation.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: TransactionTimeoutEnable
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1 (enable)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: TransactionTimeoutValue
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: <any value more than 5 seconds>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\SmartCard
Name: SendRecvTimeout
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: Minimum time-out value, in seconds; should be 30 seconds or more. Any lesser value defaults to 30 seconds. This value should be at least 10 seconds more than the "TransactionTimeoutValue."
[From XA600R02W2K8R2X64080][#LC0910]
The Citrix Smart Card Service might become unresponsive and the users might not be able to log on to the server until the service is restarted.
