The following message appears while uninstalling StoreFront: Uninstalling StoreFront failed with exit code -1.

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

Complete the following steps:

  1. Copy the Framework.xml file located at "C:\Program Files\Citrix\Receiver StoreFront\Framework\FrameworkData" to another location for back up purposes.

  2. Open the Framework.xml file located at "C:\Program Files\Citrix\Receiver StoreFront\Framework\FrameworkData" and delete everything between the <instances> tag to the very last </instances> tag. 
    Note: All the instances will be grouped together.

  3. Save the file.

  4. Open the Registry and find the folder that contains the DisplayName  as Citrix StoreFront under the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

  5. After finding the correct StoreFront folder, copy the UninstallString
    User-added image

  6. Open the command prompt as Administrator and paste the uninstallString captured in the previous step and press enter.

  7. Click OK after the process is completed.

  8. Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall a program console and uninstall StoreFront.

Problem Cause

The Framework.xml data prevents StoreFront from uninstalling.
