This article describes how to add a new SSL certificate to the SVM (Management Service) on NetScaler SDX.
There are three separate components involved when working with the SDX:
XenServer which is a hypervisor.
Service Virtual Machine (SVM) which is a management instance automatically created by the SDX.
Instances.
Adding SSL certificates to NetScaler instances is similar to adding SSL certificates to VPX or hardware device. However, adding an SSL certificate to the SVM is a different process.
Complete the following steps to add an SSL certificate to SVM:
Use WinSCP to connect to the SVM.
Navigate to /var/mps/ssl_keys directory. Copy the SSL key from your machine to the SVM.
Navigate to /var/mps/ssl_certs directory. Copy the cert file from your machine to the SVM.
Close the WinSCP session. Open SVM GUI.
Click System > Install SSL Certificate.
In the Install SSL Certificate on Management Service wizard, click the drop-down for Certificate File and Key File. The files uploaded earlier appears in the list.
Enter a password in the Password field (if necessary) and click OK.
The SVM will require a reboot to finish.
Note: Rebooting the SVM does NOT reboot all the instances on the device.
After reboot, log on to the SVM GUI and view the new certificate.
