This article provides information on how to migrate Virtual Machine (VM) to New storage.

Instructions

Complete the following steps to migrate VM to New Storage:

1. Pool Random Machines:  Delete them and Recreate them on a new Resource of the Same Hosting Unit.

2. Dedicate Machines: Remove them from XenDesktop wizard selecting the option to leave the machines intact. Reimport the machines into XenDesktop as "existing, power managed" machines.

3. Create new  PVD machines (the same number as currently in use).

4. Place the machines in Maintenance mode.

5. Remove user assignments from the machines.

6. Detach the PVD from the old VDA.

7. Go to new VDA in new catalog.

8. Detach the PVD created by MCS. Attach the old PVD vmdk to the new VM in the new catalog.

9. Go to Studio, add the VM to the new Delivery Group.

10. Add the user to the VM.
