This article provides important information about the
Citrix Director 7.6.200 release. It includes an overview of the new features and enhancements in the release, as well as installation and upgrade instructions for Director 7.6.200.
New Capabilities in Director 7.6.200
Session Recording: With Director 7.6.200, you can enable and disable the Session Recording policy from the User Details and Machine Details views.
- User Policy: From the Activity Manager and User Details pages, the Director administrator can turn on or turn off the Session Recording capability for any user with assigned resources. You can enable the policy with or without notification using the buttons provided on these pages.
- Machine Policy: The Machine Details page provides a button to turn on Session Recording for a machine. After turning on Session Recording, all the subsequent sessions to the machine have Session Recording turned on.
The Session Recording policy name set on the Session Recording Policy Console is shown on the policy panel under the User Details page.
The Machine Details panel on both User Details and Machine Details pages shows whether Session Recording for the machine is on or off.

Instructions
To use Citrix Director 7.6.200 with a new installation of Director or an upgrade from Director 7.x.
Requirements
- Windows Server 2008 R2 and later
- IIS 7 and later
- .Net 4.5.1 and later
Note: If you are installing Director for the first time, see the
New Installation instructions. If you are upgrading to 7.6.200 from an existing Director 7.x version, see the
Upgrade Instructions.
Prerequisites:
Installation steps:
- Install Director 7.6.200 from MSI file.
- Install CitrixGroupPolicyManagement MSI file available under the folder Citrix Policy from the XenDesktop DVD.
Post Installation steps:
- For configuring Director with the Delivery Controller, use the DirectorConfig.exe tool available in the folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Director\tools. For more information see CTX137990 - Citrix Director - DirectorConfig Tool.
- For a successful log on to Director, register ASP.net with IIS. For registering ASP.Net with IIS, run the command: “C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Director\tools>DirectorConfig.exe /registerdotnet”
Create a rule in the Windows Firewall to allow communication from Port 80, 443.
Prerequisites:
- .Net 4.5.1.
- .Net 4.5.1 is already installed on Director 7.6.
- Install .Net 4.5.1 while upgrading from Director 7.0, Director 7.1, and Director 7.5.
IIS:
Existing IIS features for 7.x will work perfectly. No new feature is required. For required IIS features, see

- Install Director 7.6.200 from MSI file.
Post Installation steps:
- Run the command “C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Director\tools\DirectorConfig.exe /upgrade”.
Note: Run the command with elevated administrative rights or it fails. The latest Director configuration settings are not available without running this command.

Configuring the Session Recording Server

Configure the Director server to use the Session Recording Server by running the command:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Director\tools\DirectorConfig.exe /configsessionrecording

Enter the IP/FQDN of the Session Recording server, port, and the connection type (http/https) to complete the configuration on the Director server.

For https connection to the Session Recording Server, install the certificate to trust Session Recording Server in the Trusted Root Certificates of the Director Server.
