.NET errors are encountered when installing Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) software on machines where Avecto Privilege Guard client software is running.
Complete the following steps to exclude XenApp/XenDesktop setup from Avecto Privilege Guard hooking on the machine where the Virtual Delivery Agent software will be installed:
Caution! Refer to the Disclaimer at the end of this article before using Registry Editor.
Launch the registry editor.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Avecto\Privilege Guard Client.
Add a REG_MULTI_SZ named HookExclusions.
Type the value XenDesktopVdaSetup.exe.
Note: Same XenDesktopVDASetup.exe value is used for XenApp.
Add the same key/value pair for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avecto\Privilege Guard Client.
Avecto recommends excluding the VDA installer from its hooking mechanism for now while they consider a fix for this in a future release of the Privilege Guard client software.
Avecto Privilege Guard client software is installed on the machines where the VDA software is being installed. The Avecto Privilege Guard client causes an exception in the VDA installer related to .NET configuration settings.
