Description

.NET errors are encountered when installing Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) software on machines where Avecto Privilege Guard client software is running.

Environment

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

Complete the following steps to exclude XenApp/XenDesktop setup from Avecto Privilege Guard hooking on the machine where the Virtual Delivery Agent software will be installed:

Caution! Refer to the Disclaimer at the end of this article before using Registry Editor.

  1. Launch the registry editor.

  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Avecto\Privilege Guard Client.

  3. Add a REG_MULTI_SZ named HookExclusions.

  4. Type the value XenDesktopVdaSetup.exe.
Note: Same XenDesktopVDASetup.exe value is used for XenApp.

  5. Add the same key/value pair for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avecto\Privilege Guard Client.
