Where to Find Documentation

This document describes the issue(s) resolved by this release and includes installation instructions. For additional product information, see Citrix eDocs the Citrix Product Documentation Library.

New Fixes in This Release

  1. In deployments that utilize the Lync Optimization Pack, messages that follow in short order in Lync 2010 can cause Lync 2010 (communicator.exe) to exit unexpectedly.

To prevent this issue, install this fix and then set the following registry key:

    On 32-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\HDXRTConnectorLC
    Name:DisableMeetNowUIHandlers
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (enables this fix); 0 (disables this fix; all Meet Now UI handles are active; default)

    On 64-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HDXRTConnectorLC
    Name:DisableMeetNowUIHandlers
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (enables this fix); 0 (disables this fix; all Meet Now UI handles are active; default)

    [From HDXRealTimeConn_Lync_1.4.200][#LC0006]

  2. If a user makes a call from an optimized Lync client to another user, it takes about seven rings for the second user to see the signal and hear a ringtone.

To reduce the amount of time before the user hears the ringtone, create the following registry key on the server:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\HDXRTConnectorLC\MediaEngine
    Value: TurnTCPAllocationTimeout
    Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 2000 to 10000, default value is 5000 (milliseconds)

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0100]

  3. Microsoft Lync is unable to receive calls in a XenDesktop session and the calls are recorded in a voicemail while using HDX RealTime Media Engine.

To enable the fix, create the following registry key in Windows Server to disable bandwidth adaptation:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\HDXRTConnectorLC\MediaEngine
    Value: EnableBandwidthAdaptation
    Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0 to disable, 1 to enable

After setting the registry key in Windows Server, start XenDesktop and then set the same registry key in XenDesktop. Then, exit Lync 2010 and make sure that HDXRTOptLC.exe is closed in Task Manager. When Lync 2010 is restarted, the changes take effect.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0124]

  4. The Microsoft Lync Optimization Pack might exit unexpectedly when placing conference calls.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0127]

  5. The Microsoft Lync Optimization Pack might exit unexpectedly when placing conference calls.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0152]

  6. When placing a conference call, Microsoft Lync might quit unexpectedly on a user device that has the Lync Optimization pack installed and when a Human Interface Device (HID) is used.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0161]

  7. Lync Optimization Pack fails to fetch the new certificate when an existing certificate expires.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0191]

  8. When the video call is established, the audio works properly but the video does not appear when a Cisco VCS 8.x device is used.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0247]

  9. If user1 makes a call from an optimized Lync client with HDX RealTime Media Engine to user2, who has a non-optimized Lync client without HDX RealTime Media Engine, user1 cannot hear the voice of user2.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0264]

  10. If the HDX Lync Optimization Pack is installed and users log on with Citrix Receiver for Windows, the following error message might appear:

"1046 Virtual Driver is not loaded"

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0381]

  11. When the HDX Lync Optimization Pack is installed, USB devices might be very slow in registering on Windows Embedded Standard 7.

To enable the fix, you must install HDX RealTime Media Engine and HDX RealTime Connector on the user device and VDA.

    [From HDXRealTimeMediaEngine_Win_1.4.200][#LC0509]

  12. Conference calls might drop with Lync Optimization Pack installed.
