Receiver for Android 3.1 or later
Third-party app to modify filenames (that is ASTRO File Manager, etc.)
There are certain scenarios when customers cannot execute the provisioning file when sent through email or when they click Activate from Receiver for Web (see the following example). The error displayed is “Can’t open file”.
Complete the following steps to run the provisioning file:
Notes:
To overcome this issue, you must rename the receiverconfig.cr file to receiverconfig.xml.
If your Android device is capable to rename filenames, ensure to rename it to receiverconfig.xml. Otherwise, download and install a third-party app tool to make such modification. In this example, ASTRO File Manager is used, which is available at Google Play.
Ensure to download the provisioning file (receiverconfig.cr) in the Android device. Usually the default location is the download folder.
Click Rename.
Rename the file to receiverconfig.xml.
Verify that the file name is correct.
Click on the file and select Receiver.
Note: If the file is executed successfully, you will be prompted by Receiver to complete the rest of the information.
Receiver is ready with a configured store.
